Dear Doulas,
it is a great honour and privilege for the Greek Doula Association to host the 10th annual EDN Conference in Greece, from 4th-6th September 2020. This year coincides with the 10-year anniversary since the official birth of our association!
For this year’s conference we have considered various suggestions from many of you and brainstormed for many months to come up with what you will experience. An added feature that we think is of utmost importance is the sustainability of our event, so this has played a major role in our decision-making. As both the EDN and the Greek Doula Association grow rapidly in numbers, we have been juggling with the needs of hundreds of wonderful, different doulas!
In the first part of the conference we will be focusing on the “Informing” and “Supporting” aspects of our network: we are planning an event in the center of Athens, open to everyone interested in perinatal care – both professionals (midwives, doctors, etc) and consumers of services (parents, etc). This event aims to strengthen our association and our roles as doulas in our country. International doulas are welcome! If you plan to attend the Friday morning event and are travelling from abroad, you will need to arrive to Athens on Thursday. Please contact us so we can help you with accommodation tips. Members of the EDN Office will join the event as key-note speakers.
For the second part of the conference we will be focusing on the “Connecting” aspect of our network. For this reason we have chosen to hold our meeting around an organic farm, in a village-like atmosphere, with simple accommodations surrounding the farm, and communal eating. There are other options for those who prefer them.
We are looking forward to Connecting, Supporting, Informing each other in an early autumn Greek scenery!
